These were planted in 2009 into ripped lines (winged ripper), and have grown well on this dry, hard site up Leaches Road. These have been wind stable (we know that lusitanica means less stable…). Early June 2012 the area was covered in approximately 20 cm of snow. Members were concerned that the snow would have damaged the trees – many of which are tall and thin. The photos show minimal damage and many very healthy trees. One tree – Plot ? tree no? was split by snow.
